The Pitman arm is a crucial component in a vehicle’s steering system, especially in vehicles equipped with recirculating ball steering gear. It connects the steering gear to the steering linkage, converting the rotational motion from the steering gear into the linear motion needed to turn the wheels.

Pitman arms connect the steering gearbox to the steering linkage, converting steering wheel rotation into wheel movement. Here are the main types:
Standard Pitman Arm

Drop Pitman Arm
- Has a downward bend to correct steering angles.
- Used in lifted vehicles to reduce bump steer.
- Helps restore proper steering geometry.
Double Pitman Arm

- Distributes steering force more evenly.
Offset Pitman Arm
